“Nice movie theatre in downtown Austin. It’s easy to get to and they give you free parking. There’s also a bar and a lounge area. The theatres itself are small but comfortable. We drove 40 minutes here just to see a movie not shown anywhere else in the area; still worth it.”
“One of the last independent cinemas in Austin and a great experience everytime. The only movie theater where I can enjoy a Guinness with a excellent popcorn in a comfy recliner. They will validate your parking. I used to love Alamo but it’s really gone down hill since being acquired. Visit Violet Crown, you won’t regret it!”

He took the time to come outside and make sure everything was sorted, and I truly appreciated his kindness and...”

After a minute of walking around and checking the place out, we overheard the staff talking to each other and saying they were going to ask us to leave. We decided to just walk out instead of wait for a showtime of a movie we had decided we wanted to see. As we walked out, we overheard staff loudly saying "Oh...”
“Comfy wrinkly leather seats with character. Rows set on an incline (stadiumesque) so no heads/hats to peer around. No onscreen commercials! Just that is worth an extra star. Relevant previews. Mix of offbeat/esoteric/artsy films with the big releases. There was a clever cartoon short. Very friendly and courteous staff. Nice theatregoing experience. Get off the couch!”
